pelliott
I got some useful information on this forum a little while ago, and hope now for more of the same. I am using Retrospect Workgroup 5.0.205 on a Mac server, and for the past year and a half have been successfully backing up three G4 Macs that have Retrospect Client 5.0.528 software on them. Late last week we installed on the three clients Mac OS 10.3 Panther – all very nice, but now Retrospect no longer sees the clients. I went to one of the client computers and opened up the client software – the screen appeared and the On-Off buttons at the top were set to “Off”, and below it said “Status: Waiting for password initialization (click ‘On’ button)”. So I clicked the On button and the client name appeared and below that “Status: Waiting for first access”. I thought I was home free at this point; however, after about 10 seconds or so the button setting reverted to “Off,” and it does so every time I click the On button. I tried uninstalling the client software and then installed it again, but the same thing happens. Does anyone have an idea about what I’m doing wrong here or what I should be doing that I am not? Any advice would be appreciated – as may be evident, I am not very knowledgeable in these (computer) matters. Thanks.
