MarVer
Hi, does anyone know whether there is a maximum size to a single file that can be backed up? The documentation / knowledgebase only mentions destination sizes. I need to backup some videofiles exceeding 10 GB. Using version Retrospect 6.1.126 Desktop. Appreciate your help! Thanks, Marius
Lennart_T
I don't there is such a limit. What happens if you try to back them up? Is there a problem?
xvi
As far as I know, there's no file size limit per se, as long as the file is NOT accessed through a network mount. I just did a few 8 GB files backup that are local to the Mac running the Retrospect server.
MarVer
Would this be possible to a DVD-R set as well? A single file spread across several disks? Maybe I should just give this a try... Cheers

Since Retrospect fills each DVD-R before requesting the next, files are normally spanned across to the next disc. I backup a lot of iMovie projects, where the video files are quite large. In the middle of a file, Retrospect requests a new disc and continues without a hitch. Just go for it! Regards Lennart
