Guest
I've noticed that not all of the files from the source are being duplicated to the backup hard drive. When I use Disk Utility to check the number of files, there are about 80 files that are missing. Any idea how I can be sure if every file is actually being backed up? Why would there be such a difference? Thanks!
Lennart_T
Are you filtering? Or using "All Files"? I can imagine temporary OS files not being backed up (which you don't need to backup). On my System disk I see a larger difference: 650438 vs 649250, a difference of 1188 files. On my iTunes Library disk, I see 5527 vs 5523, a difference of only 4 files. I have performed full recovery of crashed hard drives and repartioning of hard drives using Retrospect with no adverse effects. I say the difference is nothing to worry about. Guest
Hello Lennert, I am using "All files,". I didn't take into consideration the temp files. Makes sense. If you've made full recoveries with that big a difference, I'm confident that could be it! Thanks for giving me peace of mind!
