rlgoldie
I am using an iMac G3, 400 mHz and back up 3 times a week to a hard disk. Almost every day, and especially at startup, there is a message "You have never backed up over the network. Contact your administrator" I do back up my iBook, but run that as a "back up now" script. I have not been able to figure out why I get this message--only slightly annoying, but evidently not serious.
CallMeDave
Quote: I have not been able to figure out why I get this message Because you have never been backed up over the network. Apparently you installed the Retrospect OS X Client software, but you are doing all your backups with the full Retrospect application. Use the Client installer to un-install the client software; that will end the messages. Dave
rlgoldie
Thank you for the hint. Should I uninstall on the main (back up) CPU or the laptop?
twickland
Remove the client software from the machine that's not using it (i.e., your iMac). If you remove it from the laptop, you will not be able to back the laptop up as a client
