Guest
I just completed restoring four files. The Retrospect status window says they were restored (4 files, 44.3 M). The log says they were restored. The restored folders are on the hard drive. However, the restored -files- are not inside the restored folders. They're nowhere to be found. Lesson learned... Retrospect does NOT make restored invisible folders (e.g., .Trash) visible. It only took me an hour and a half to learn that one. Ouch. Feature request... When backing up files from invisible folders (folders starting with a period), put an "x" in front of the period so the folder is visible inside the restored folders. I'm using Retrospect 6.1.126 on a Mac mini running OS X 10.4.3.
natew
Hi Retrospect restores folders exactly as they were when they were backed up. Hidden folders will be restored as hidden. A utility like cocktail or a simple ls -la command from a terminal will allow you to see those files. Thanks nate
