NeilFaiman
Every time I do a normal backup to a file backup set, I get the error message "Backup set format inconsistency (7 at 0)". Looking at my operations log, I see that the first time I got this error was July 13. At first it was very occasional, but now it happens on every backup. It does not appear to interfere with the backup, but I don't like seeing unknown error messages. At the time the problem first appeared, I was running Retrospect 6.0.212, Driver Update 6.3.102. I'm now running Retrospect 6.1.126, Driver Update 6.1.1.101. Mac OS X 10.4.3. I can't find any mention of "Backup set format inconsistency" searching the Dantz Knowledgebas or the archives of this bulletin board. Has anyone else ever seen this message? Any idea what it means or what to do about it? Thanks Neil Faiman
CallMeDave
Quote: I can't find any mention of "Backup set format inconsistency" searching the Dantz Knowledgebas or the archives of this bulletin board A search of this board for the stiring "7 at 0" provided three threads started by other users (here, here and here) It seems reasonable to infer that the issue is a physical problem with the Destination volume and/or it's connection. Since you don't provide any information regarding your hardware configuration, it's impossible for Forum users to note any similarities with other reports. But if you're using an external HD you should check it out w/Disk Warrior, and possibly reformat it if you get errors. Dave
