popak
Hi everybody... I am running retro 6.1 and it backs up 3 other servers as well. I get these error message like: File “access_log”: different data size (set: 427,007, vol: 456,606), path: “Thomas/private/var/log/cups/access_log”. File “access_log”: different data size (set: 450,929, vol: 451,819), path: “Thomas/private/var/log/httpd/access_log”. File “servermgr_afp.lock”: different modification date/time (set: 10/30/2005 10:16:46 PM, vol: 10/30/2005 10:26:46 PM), path: “Thomas/private/var/servermgrd/servermgr_afp.lock”. File “servermgr_appserver.lock”: different modification date/time (set: 10/30/2005 10:16:46 PM, vol: 10/30/2005 10:26:46 PM), path: “Thomas/private/var/servermgrd/servermgr_appserver.lock”. File “servermgr_dhcp.lock”: different modification date/time (set: 10/30/2005 10:16:46 PM, vol: 10/30/2005 10:26:46 PM), path: “Thomas/private/var/servermgrd/servermgr_dhcp.lock”. I know for the .lock's error, I don't even use some of these services even like dhcp, afp or application server. Can somebody explain me these error messages. thanks -Popak

Perhaps servermgrd just does this no matter what your settings are, or perhaps your settings could be modified to change the behavior. But all Retrospect is saying is that the files have changed between the time it first scanned the Source and when it went back to compare what it backed up with what's currently on the drive. Totally expected and normal behavior. Same with the httpd and cups processes; they keep logs, the logs change, Retrospet notices the change. These are good errors; they make it clear that things are running as they should. Dave
