JDouglasHall
Every time I restart my client machine, Retrospect Client is turned off. This must be a preference file or something like that that's causing this problem. I've recently updated my client OS from OS X 10.3 to 10.4, and also upgraded from Retropsect 5 to 6. I've also noticed this on a few other client machines, but typically the same ones. I've done a system-wide search for all files that start with "retr" and removed them and reinstalled the client. Still no success. The problem persists, no matter the version of the OS or Retrospect. Any ideas how I might correct this? Thanks, Doug
twickland
Be sure you're using client version 6.0.110 with your Tiger clients. Also check out the recent threads, "Retrospect Client 6.0.110 still disabled under Tiger" and "client switches off unintended," in this forum. Still no success. The OS X Client installer has an un-install option, that will remove all the files (since it already knows where they are). Once you're re-installed fresh, don't move the client application. Dave
JDouglasHall
Performing an "uninstall", then reinstalling from the installer application worked! Sorry for not posting back for so long. I appreciate all the suggestions.
pammm56
I just updated my client to the most recent version. When I restart my computer the Client always shows up as an active application. Is that necessary? When I had the problem of the client quitting in the last version I would click ON and then quit the client. Then everything would work find until the next restart. Before the last version I didn't notice that the client stayed as an active application. What is it supposed to do?
natew
Hi By active application do you mean the client control panel is launching automatically? That isn't normal... Nate

Let's go back to a post you made on April 12, 2005, in a thread titled "Why won't client stay "ON"?" where you wrote: > After upgrading to Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) I find that my client on my >PowerBook opens (I told it to be a startup item)... If it's still in your list of Login Items, then it will launch when you log into the Finder.
