danti
Just updated to 10.4. Made sure to also update to latest version of Retrospect 6.0.212 and driver 6.6.101. Was previously running the earlier version 6.0.204 with driver 6.2.102 when using Mac OS 10.3. Now my backups fail because the system sees a problem with the backup set catalogs. I get the message Catalog out of sync with backup set... Asks to run Tools>Repair>Update Existing. When I do this the tape reads and gets to the building catalog stage and just runs indefinitely with our completing the recataloging. No files are completed, the dialog just says building Catalog... Completed 0 files zero K What do I need to do to fix this?
natew
Hi What backup device are you using and how is it connected to the computer? If this is a SCSI tape drive what SCSI card are you using? Thanks nate
danti
I'm using a HP SureStore 24x6 DAT connected through a Adaptec 2906 PCI SCSI card.
CallMeDave
Adaptec stopped supporting OS X at version 10.2. When OS X 10.3 came out, Dantz announced that Retrospect would no longer be qualified to operate reliably with Adaptec cards. If it was working for you in 10.3, you were lucky. Your luck ran out with 10.4. Dave
danti
Does anyone have recommendations as to what scsi card to get. Just need a single external channel. Hopefully one that Apple, Retrospect, and the card manufacture will support on the mac platform for awhile.
natew
Hi Atto UL3s or Atto UL4s are your two choices for after market SCSI cards supported by Retrospect. Thanks Nate
