spark_creative
Hi folks, First time post to the forum. Hopefully my last (yeah, right...) Anway, I wanted to see if someone could "check my work" so-to-speak. I haven't used Retrospect in quite a while and even then I just swapped tapes and confimed scripts. Now I'm responsible for the whole thing! For now, I have an Xserve (Mac OS Server 10.4.2) and Xserve RAID that I need to backup using an Exabyte VXA2 PacketLoader 1x10 (w/ Firewire). I've loaded all the latest updates and drivers for Retrospect. I'm starting off pretty simply with a Backup Set A and B, switching sets every Monday and letting the script run a normal backup every night at 10:00 (Monday - Sunday). I've selected all files except for Cache files to be backed up. It all seems pretty straight forward with my only question being the backup of the primary drive for the Xserve where Retrospect is running. Any "gotcha's" to watch out for concerning that? Does this all seem like a sound backup strategy to get me started? JLampitt
natew
Hi Everything looks good to me. Backing up the system drive is no problem. Just make sure you have Retrospect 6.0.212 installed with Driver update version 6.6 Thanks Nate
