Guest
Howdy, I am running RS B/U 6.0.212 on a dual 2.5 G5 using Tiger 10.4.2. Ever since I began running Tiger, I've had this annoying problem When attempting to view the search results while trying to retrieve files, Retrospect crashes. If I run a narrow search and there are not too many files in the search results, I am able to view the search results and retrieve the files. If however, I want to search an entire tape, or even if the search results total more than 50 or 60 megs, Retrospect crashes the instant I click on the files chosen button. Very frustrating. Anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks - Gary
Mayoff
Does this happen with other backup sets? This could be a corrupt catalog file or corrupt Retrospect preferences. You may need to remove the Retrospect preferences from library/preferences/Retrospect
Guest
This happens with all of my catalogs. I don't believe the catalogs are corrupt, as I can write to them and retrieve from them no problem. Crashing only occurs when trying to view a large number of search results at one time. I have tried trashing the prefs several times, and even reinstalling Retrospect with the no luck.
Mayoff
You may want to try doing a restore from another computer to see if the problem follows the catalog files.
Guest
Thanks for the suggestion. I copied one of the catalogs to another machine that is running a slightly older version of Retrospect 6 and 10.3.9 and the problem goes away. Got to have something to do with Tiger, but I don't know what......
