Retrospect ignoring a particular directory?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a script set with a standard backup that appears to be ignoring a particular directory on the volume. Just tried to restore something from a snapshot and this directory is not included in the catalog (aarrggh).

Does anyone have any suggestions, the script is set to backup 'all files', there are no errors in the log, and there are no weird permissions on the directory in question or anything.

Any help *much* appreciated - I'm running 6.0.212 under OS X 10.4.2

OK, well the problem seems to be the fact that I've called the directory 'dev'. I have changed it's name to 'development' and all seems fine. Hopefully I don't have to update too many path references now...

I know UNIX sometimes uses a 'dev' directory but the isn't on my boot drive so I wouldn't have thought this would conflict (ie it's in /Volumes/disc_name/dev). It always used to work with previous versions of Retrospect as well - maybe it's a Tiger thing, I noticed when I drag-copied the directory to another drive it disappeared in the Finder (even though I could see it via terminal with 'ls').
