Whenever I change out my tapes with new ones, and go to the configure devices tab in retrospect 6, all of the new tapes still have the names of the old tapes I just took out. dstranathan Posted August 11, 2005 Report Share Posted August 11, 2005 The library probably won't know what the tapes are until you ask it to scan. It "remembers" what tapes were in last as a convieience to users. If you swap taps and dont rescan, then it "assumes" the older tapes are still in it (until it scans). Some libraries have more robust options for scanning and labeling, which can use barcodes, lasers, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
