brianl_95616
I am running the most recent Retrospect driver on OS 10.4.2. I am able to see/configure certain remote Windows clients with the most recent client versions, but am unable to access any volumes on these machines. The volume selection pain states that "Network Communication Failed". The machines this applies to are new Dell boxes running SP2, and I have tried turning the firewalls off with no change. It did work under 10.3.8. Any ideas are appreciated.
CallMeDave
One idea would be to provide the version of the RDU you're using, instead of the non-specific "most recent" description. The same holds true for the version of the Windows client software. Folks on the Forum might be able to help, but guessing or assuming critical facts only slows the process down. twickland
A recent poster found that the disappearing volumes problem may be related to Symantec AntiVirus v10 on the clients. He was able to resolve the issue by downgrading the clients from v7.0 to v6.5. One caveat: we found that the Retrospect application would hang at media member changes with Windows clients v6.5. We have been successfully using Windows client v6.0.110 with all our XP SP2 clients.
brianl_95616
Downgrading to the v6.5.136 PC client seems to have solved our problem of visible clients --> invisible volumes. All 20 of our PCS have Retrospect Client 7.0 (multiple versions), Symantec AV v10, and XP SP2, but only the two newest machines had the disappearing volumes.
