tap
I have been using Retrospect with this tape drive for about 8 months. Now that I've upgraded to Retrospect version 5.6.132 with Retrospect Driver Update, version 2.8.111, the tape is recognized, but soon after loading the tape (there's a quick message in the Configure/Devices where "loading" is replaced by "unrecognized media" - at least I think so as it happens quickly. It quick because right after that I get the Windows box saying that the USB Device has been disconnected. I could live with this version not working - but now I can't seem to go back to my original version either (can't do a restore without the tape drive!). Please help!!!! Thanks!!! AmyJ
Does this only happen while Retrospect is running? What happens if you close Retrospect and insert a tape into the drive? Do you get the same message from Windows?
tap
This happens ONLY with Retrospect. I can startup the computer with or without a tape, change tapes, etc - all without having the USB report that it was disconnected.
AmyJ
It sounds as if something may have gotten corrupted during your upgrade from a previous version. There were no functional changes between versions of Retrospect that would cause your Onstream drive to behave erratically. You should uninstall Retrospect, reboot and install a clean copy of the current version with your 5.6 installer.
