Lucky_Phil
Hi, Sorry if this is a dumb question ... After upgrading to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 with Retrospect version 10.0.0.213 previously installed ... My backup scripts now do not work on C:drive. The OS drive. Other drives work fine. Is there a simple fix for this? The log shows: + Normal backup using Backup C at 2/06/2015 11:14 AM Adding to 5,565.5 GB of backup set data, starting at file index 11946 To Backup Set Backup Set C... Lucky_Phil
Oh, guess what? I didn't realise that now I have TWO C:OS drives showing up on my system following the Windows 8.1 upgrade? If I select the second one as my source, the backup now works .... Now, the question is: Why do I see two OS drives now? How can I get rid of the other one? I'm confused. (Even more than normal!). Lennart_T
If the upgrade to Windows 8.1 involved a (re)formatting of the C: drive, then Retrospect sees them as two separate volumes. For all Retrospect knows, you might put back the original C: drive later since it can't be sure it has been wiped (formatted). If/when the original is put back, Retrospect must recognize it separate from the new drive. In Retrospect, go to Configure-->Volumes and "Forget" the C: drive.
Lucky_Phil
Thanks Lennart, I'll try the "Forget" setting. Somehow this could be related to the creation of an additional Recovery partition during the Windows 8.1 update?
Lennart_T
Somehow this could be related to the creation of an additional Recovery partition during the Windows 8.1 update? It might. It would most likely cause the size of the C: partition to be reduced, making Retrospect think it's a new drive.

I think you are right Lennart. The "Forget" volume worked well. Thanks again.
