tech1uae
Hi all, I wonder if someone can help with a bug I seem to be experiencing. I am trying to backup a subfolder on a volume to tape. Here is the procedure; 1. Press 'Backup' top left. 2. Press Continue. 3. Browse Volume. 4. Tick Subfolder. 5. Press Done. 6. Window 'shows' manual file selection. 7. Press Continue. 8. Highlight Tape. 9. Press Continue. I then see that attached file. However, when I press 'Start Now' the script automatically starts scanning the whole volume and not the individual subfolder. Is this normal behaviour? Shall I just wait to see what is backed up? This was working until a couple of months ago. Perhaps I just need to let the whole thing scan? Thanks, Andy
tech1uae
Ignore this I'm going mad. The process reads the whole volume and then matches the subfolder.
Lennart_T
The process reads the whole volume and then matches the subfolder. Yes, that is the way I remember it works. That's a bit unfortunate if you have millions of files you want to avoid scanning.
twickland
The process reads the whole volume and then matches the subfolder. The best solution is probably to create a favorite folder in the Sources window. Retrospect then treats this folder as if it were a separate volume and will not scan the entire parent volume.
