Don Lee
I noted an anomaly in my log: + Normal backup using daily_user_portable at 3/27/14 (Activity Thread 1)To Backup Set v9_daily_user...- 3/27/14 11:31:59 AM: Copying Users on agility3/27/14 11:37:27 AM: Snapshot stored, 7.4 MB3/27/14 11:37:32 AM: Execution completed successfullyCompleted: 16104 files, 2.3 GBPerformance: 460.4 MB/minuteDuration: 00:05:32 (00:00:29 idle/loading/preparing)- 3/27/14 11:37:33 AM: Verifying v9_daily_user3/27/14 11:38:04 AM: Execution completed successfullyCompleted: 16143 files, 2.3 GBPerformance: 4,983.8 MB/minuteDuration: 00:00:31 (00:00:02 idle/loading/preparing) The odd thing is the diference between the files backed up, and the files verified. Why are there 41 more files verified than were backed up? ???????????????????????????? amkassir
Sometimes I see this disparity in the log after a backup, especially if the previous backup didn't complete normally. I'm using media verification. Another observation: I have always seen the disparity after running an incremental backup immediately after upgrading to a new version of Retrospect. I think this happened to me when upgrading from Retrospect 8-->9, 9-->10, and 10-->11. I recently contacted Retrospect support about why this occurs. The bottom line was: "Retrospect really does not provide us with a way to know why it decided to verify additional files during the recent backup." "I can only assume that Retrospect felt like some files had not been previously verified and included those in that operation. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about though."
