radiumsoup
I am using a Windows machine as the Retrospect server, and need to add a Mac server as a backup client. Do I need to buy a license for "Retrospect Server Client 1-Pack, WIN 8" or "Retrospect Server Client 1-Pack, MAC 10"? I'm a little confused at the nomenclature. Lennart_T
Is the Mac running "Mac OS X Server" or just "Mac OS X"? It is the OS that matters, not how it actually is used. And both can very well ACT as a server. If the Mac is really running "Mac OS X Server" you need the "Retrospect Server Clt 1-Pack, WIN 8" add-on. (Since the Retrospect Server runs on Windows and is version 8) Otherwise you probably won't need any extra add-ons at all, depending on how many ordinary clients you have. radiumsoup
Yes, it's OSX Server... thanks for the quick answer, that's what I assumed at first, but I just wasn't 100% sure if the licenses are added to the server or if they are client-type specific (I know I'm not using the right words here, but you understood exactly what I was asking anyway.) radiumsoup
for posterity, the given answer is correct - just verified through purchase and application of the Windows license (for Server client for Win, Retrospect v. 8), the Mac Server OS is now backing up properly. Thanks again
