marcushe Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 The -37 error documented here: http://dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=kbase&ACTION=KBASE&id=26467 Is a real pain. It stops my whole duplicate process even if there is just one bad file name. Is there any way to just log this error so it doesn't stop the whole duplicate? I hope so! Marcus
CallMeDave Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 The KB entry you reference is for Retrospect 4.3, which means it's for "Classic" Mac OS and not OS X. Do Retrospect 5/6 running on Mac OS X exhibit the problem accessing files on a Windows server that is addressed in this document? Dave
marcushe Posted April 11, 2004 Author Report Posted April 11, 2004 Sorry for the long delay to respond - Yes. I am backing up from a OS 10.3 server to a Win 2000 server over a AFP share mount. It gives this error. I have been using "A Better Finder Rename" to make all my file names Windows compatible, but this is dangerous as the servers files are all InDesign, and Pagemaker documents, so if any filenames are changed, links can be broken to pictures, body copys, etc, and ruin the layout. But we have no choice, the saftey of backup comes first. I hope this error can simply be logged. Thanks!
