geoffrey
Hello I do a backup of my data at 08:00 and 14:00. On my old XP machine at 08:00 Retrospect opened and appeared as an open program. It did the backup and remained open until I closed it. Thereafter, I could open it myself to look for backed up files etc. On my new Windows 7 machine, it opens in the background, does the 08:00 backup but remains open in the background so that I cannot open it myself to look for files etc unless I go to task manager and kill it. I prefer the XP behaviour - any idea how I can replicate that on my Windows 7 machine?
Lennart_T
Are you still running version 7.6? If all else fails, why not just leave it running all the time? (So it is always running in the foreground.)

(So it is always running in the foreground.) I'm running 7.2.123. I'm not sure what you mean by leaving it running all the time in the foreground. It used to start in the Foreground and that was fine, I had control over it. Now it starts in the background and I have no control over it other than killing it via the task manager. Geoffrey POcock I assume you mean 7.6.123. What I mean is: Once YOU launch Retrospect, don't "Exit". Just minimize it instead. Yes, that's not a proper solution, but at least it's a workaround. Yes, 7.6.123 I have just discovered that if I set the "look-ahead" time to 1h in the preferences, it closes itself down and the problem is solved - I think
