1374923E45198DE1E040000A2A666149
I have upgraded from Retrospect 7.6.123 to 7.7.562. When I call up Retrospect 7.7, it loads normally, and stays on screen long enough for me to be able to see that my purchased license is there. It then closes down by itself about 10 seconds after opening. Removing 7.7 and reinstalling 7.6.123 works fine but then installing 7.7.562 once again produces this bizarre behaviour. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I have a dual boot system with Windows XP on the other partition, and this behaves in exactly the same way. What is the fix, please? Mayoff
Did you install the 32 bit or the 64 bit version of Retrospect 7.7? Try to rename the Retrospect preference folder under documents and settings/all users/application data and then try again.
1374923E45198DE1E040000A2A666149
Thank you for your help. Doing what you suggested didn't initially solve the problem, so I disconnected a recently installed backup device and your solution worked. It would appear that an unterminated SCSI chain was confusing the Devices Search engine. When I have a SCSI terminator installed I'll try again.
