Bad Tree Exchange Error

Recommended Posts

Window Server 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2

Retrospect Multi Server version 7.6.123

Driver and Hot Fix, version 7.6.2.101

We are receiving the following error on several mailboxes:

mlvtrDirStore: Bad tree, duplicate dir found, name=Tasks.

Scan skipping multiple subfolders with same name Tasks.

While scanning volume [username],

Folder [username]\Tasks\,

Duplicate dirid detected: 0x00000000

It is not always the same folder (i.e. tasks) and some users mailboxes have the error on multiple folders.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Using the Exchange tools ISINTEG and ESEUTIL to Ensure the Health of your Information Store

Run chkdsk

Will do. I just thought this may be a Retrospect issue. I'll give you an update after running the tools. It may be a couple of days, I can't just take down the server for the chkdsk.
