Recover From Installer Crash

I was using Retrospect for Mac 8.1 and decided to update to 8.2.

I downloaded the server installer and it froze during the install - the progress indicator did not move for about 15 minutes while the prompt told me it would take about a minute. At that point, I did a force quit on the installer.

When I run the installer again, the installer tells me that it's waiting for another install to complete.

The install process has left me with an unusable backup system.

 

What steps can I take to upgrade to 8.2 or to restore 8.1 to a working state?
