Can't use DVD+RW

I've been working with Retrospect all day, and I've got it making backups - except it won't write to DVD+RW (for a recycle BU). I know the DVD+RW is working because I can format disks and I can crag files over to it, and it works. Retrospect says "not responding" though. If I go to configure devices, it says "incompatible".

I uninstalled the DVD drive (in hardware manager), rebooted, and let it detect it as new hardware, to be sure it is set up OK. But Retrospect says the same thing. It works for DVD+R.

What's wrong, and can it be fixed?

You need to see whether or not the device is supported with Retrospect,

Looks like it is not supported: HL-VT-ST DVDRRW GAS-H212. It came in my new HP computer. Is there anything I can do to get it supported, or do I have to buy a suppdrted drive?
