Asks for wrong backup set member with recycle backup

When I perform a recycle backup on a backup set consisting of 5 Iomega REV disks Retrospect asks for the wrong backup set member. When I start the recycle backup Retrospect asks for backup set member 5, it should ask for backup set member 1. After filling up backup set member 1 it asks again for backup set member 5, it should ask for member 2 and so on.

You are correct that Retrospect should be asking for the first disk.

 

Are you sure the set is recycled? What do the backup set properties say about members and used space?

Yes I am sure. I just start a recycle backup.

I do not set the backup set to recycled before starting the backup.

If I perform a recycle backup and the backup uses only 3 REV Disks the other 2 REV Disks are still shown as members of the backup set, with 100% free space.

If I start another, normal, backup after the recycle backup Retrospect asks for the correct backup set member.

Hello Marc,

 

Try this:

Recycle the set, opent the backup set properties and delete all of the members listed there. Then backup again and try a recycle as you normally would.

 

If the problem continues - Recycle the set, delete all members, type CTRL + ALT + P + P in Retrospect to bring up the hidden preferences. Under the execution heading there should be a line referring to removable disks. Change that setting and try a backup again.
