jadeboy
Is there any way to REMOVE the NTFS encryption on a directory and files during a backup session (I will use the internal retrospect encryption)? I have a NTFS data folder which is encrypted by a specific user. When I do a backup, it stored the folder in its encrypted form, but I don't want this. Because if the server crash, I will have to rebuild (reformat and reinstall, can't do a ghost on this array) and that user encryption will disappear, making a restore of the backup ntfs encryption useless. I know I might have to run the retrospect under a different user profile to descrypt the data. I have retrospect 6.5.
natew
Hi No. Files that are backed up from encrypted disks are also encrypted on the backup media. Thanks Nate
