yogaman28734
Purchased Maxtor One Touch II with Retrospect Express HD supposed to be compatible with my system, Dell with 700 MHz processor and 512 MB RAM, Windows ME, USB connection. Application starts, runs, I leave it alone, come back later, square red icons have stopped animating, CPU at 100% but Ctrl+Alt+Del shows program "not responding." It will stay like this all day. I shut it down, reopen it, choose "Restore," and it shows a successful backup. But is it really? Then why won't the program terminate itself properly? I've uninstalled, used Windows ME System Restore, reinstalled, used RegClean, closed all open programs like Norton Antivirus, tried everything, it still does the same thing. Any help out there? natew
Hi Does this happen every time you run the backup? Try installing Retrospect Express 6.0 from the network folder of the Maxtor CD. Does running a backup with that program also cause problems? If so, it would indicate a problem with the maxtor drivers or the USB drivers on the machine. Thanks Nate
