Beware Symantec Corporate v10

I'm a consultant, and have just had a second customer using Retrospect start getting blue screens after upgrading to Symantec A/V Corporate v10. The crash appears to coincide with the end of the backup phase, when the state of the shadow copy service is being changed. The crash happens in such a way that the Retrospect backup log is lost for the backup that was in progress.

Windows error reporting places the crash in symevent.dll, and says Symantec is working on a fix. Turning off Retrospect backups prevents the crash, but disabling the symantec real-time protection does not fix it. Uninstalling Symantec does.

The two cases I've seen are quite different... one is running Retrospect D2D 7.0 on a Win2k server, the other is running Retrospect Server 6.5 on a Win2k3 SBS.

Just thought others should be aware...
