webmanoffesto
Why doesn't Retrospect 6.5 See My CD/DVD Burner Drive On one of the forums I saw I should go to cofigure / devices or something like that but I couldn't find that on the menus. I tried a driver update, I downloaded retrospect-driver-update-rdu54 and put it in the same folder as the .exe file but that didn't help either. Control panel says I have a NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A drive. I'm on a Windows XP machine. Thanks, Webmanoffesto
natew
Hi On the left side of the screen in Retrospect there is a "configure" menu. A submenu of that is devices. After you click on devices a few tabs will come up. What do you see in the environment tab about your device. Please list the whole line verbatim. Thanks nate
webmanoffesto
Hi, It says "No backup devices found All devices must be connected and powered on before your computer starts up. Removable cartridge drives such as Zip, Jaz, LS-120, DVD-RAM, and MO must be visible in the Windows Explorer. Some DVD-RAM drives are visible here only when write-able media is loaded in them." natew
Hi Are there any devices listed in there at all? [ Hard drives at least should be showing up in the environment window. Since nothing is showing it sounds like a driver issue to me. Make sure to install the latest drivers and BIOS for your motherboard. If you have an add in IDE controller also update drivers for that. Thanks nate
webmanoffesto
Nope. It doesn't show any devices. I already installed the latest drivers. > and BIOS for your motherboard. natew
Hi Hardly a longshot. Outdated motherboard drivers can cause all kinds of problems. What is the make and model of your computer? WHat kind of processor does it use? Thanks nate
