artshotwell
Yes, I've got one of those Maxtor external drives and it came with Retrospect 6. I loaded a trial verion of 7.0 and now One Button backup doesn't work. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this? I'm trying to get Retrospect to work before buying it. Right now it seems Dantz has thrown roadblocks in my way.
MrMikeH
You can update the One Touch software to start Retrospect 7 by using the Drive Management/Customize One Touch Button and changing the path to "C:\Program Files\Dantz\Retrospect 7.0\MaxtorOneTouch.rxt" You will need the rxt file. Since I can't attach it here, just email me and I will send it to you. I can't remember where I downloaded it from. The one thing I can't get it to do is automatically execute the nightly backup script I have. If anyone knows how to execute a script via the command line, let me know. Just in case my email doesn't show up in this post it is mrmikeh@hotmail.com
MrMikeH
Here is another option someone else suggested: To set up the one touch button. Make a script in automate->manage scripts window. If you already have one, just point to it in the next step. Select the script from the "run" menu at the top of the screen in Retrospect. Select "create a run document" Save the run document somewhere on your disk. Open the maxtor one touch utility, click on the one touch button tab and point it to the run document icon you just created.
