kenner
Today I upgraded a just-purchased Retrospect Express to 7.0 Professional, version 7.0.326. I installed the latest client, 7.0.107, on a Thinkpad. When I try to do a backup of the laptop (running the client) to my desktop, it scans all the files and then reports Can't select files, error -2303 (Selector condition file system not available) It appears that the number of files and sizes are correct, however. This occurs whether I specify to back up the entire disk or just one folder. I've tried turning off Windows Firewall on both machines, but that doesn't change anything. Where else can I look? RonaldL
Are you using any custom selectors? Did you import the settings from Retrospect 6.5 (or earlier)? Try temporarily moving the configuration files and see if you have the same problem. The configs are located in c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Retrospect and will be called config70.dat and config70.bak. Temporarily move these files (as well as any other config##.dat and config##.bak files) to a different folder. Relaunch Retrospect and try backing up the client again to see if you get the same error.
kenner
For the client backup, I just made one for that purpose. As I said, I tried both the full C: and a single directory on C, so I guess that qualifies as a "Custom Selector". I did copy the *original* configuration from Retrospect Express at 6.5, but that did *not* include the client.
