plattecity
My main computer crashed so I grabbed the USB Hard drive on which my back up rested, I went to my daughter's computer and installed Retrospect, plugged in the USB drive, and as a first step I started to recreate the catalog. After about 20,000 files successfully read I get: OS: Windows XP version 5.1 (build 2600), Service Pack 2 Application: C:\Program Files\Dantz\Retrospect 7.0\Retrospect.exe, version 7.0.249 Exception occurred on 8/4/2005 at 2:41:36 PM Error info: Assertion failure at "arc.cpp-1588" Exception code: E0000000 ASSERTION Fault address: 7C81EB33 0001:0001DB33 kernel32.dll While "Rebuild catalog" appears to be a common solution for many problems, I can't rebuild the catalog. There's the problem. Any ideas?
RonaldL
Try downloading 7.0.326 from http://www.dantz.com/updates to see if you see the same assert error. Restart her machine before trying another catalog rebuild.
plattecity
Thanx anyhow but it still crashes -- at 1593. Seems to be database corruption which may be a tough fix.
