randykahle Posted June 3, 2005 Report Share Posted June 3, 2005 I checked the Dantz list of supported drives and purchased a Plextor 712UF firewire DVD drive expecting that it would work. On Tiger, after installed the Toast Lite program (that has some drivers?), I did get Retrospect to work, but only after "configuring" the drive in TAO mode. This is an extremely slow method of doing backup. I would have expected "supported" to mean that Retrospect would support the drive at full speed and without resorting to the "configure" step. Did I misunderstand what "supported" means? Should I try to get the drive to work at a higher speed? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
natew Posted June 6, 2005 Report Share Posted June 6, 2005 Hi You should not have needed to run the autoconfiguration. Retrospect has native support for this device. You have Retrospect 6.0 right?
