WeRich Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Using the German version of Retropsect-7 I have the following problem: When running the Disaster-Recovery-Wizzard everything works ok at the beginning. My goal is to burn the image to a CD-R-Disk. But at the end the process stops with the message (translated from German to English): File "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\atapi.sys" can not be read - Error 1020 (sharing violation) I checked, but the file atapi.sys is here and seems to be vaild. I use Win XP Pro / SP-2 German version. Many Thanks in advance for any help on this problem.
RonaldL Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 I've usually seen this issue on systems that are running some sort of virtual cd software such as Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%. There's a program that's using this file and not allowing other programs access to it. If you go to that folder and try to make a copy of the file, you will probably be unable to do so. Are you running any kind of virtual cd or cd writing programs in the background? If you are, try exiting them to see if it allows you access to the file.
WeRich Posted May 3, 2005 Author Report Posted May 3, 2005 Many THX RonaldL, Alcohol120% really caused the problem. After uninstalling and removing its virtual CD-drive, everything works fine again. Once again Thanks for your help !
