Retrospect Won't Backup to Iomega REV Drive

Recommended Posts

Our Retrospect 6.0 will not backup to our 35GB REV Drive from Iomega(even though software came w/drive) and a Mac OSX 10.3.8. The REV seems to work OK on its own and works w/Retrospect until you try to backup. We can "Duplicate" using Retrospect to the REV Drive and the Drive shows under devices. When we go to backup, it cannot find the drive.

We create Backup-->>Choose Destination as the REV Drive Disk and save "Backup Set A". -->> Now execute B/U --->> starts normal-->> Begins "Searching Drives for backup Set A -->> Begins searching for Blank Media -->> Gives message "Please Select New Drive" -->> shows REV Drive so we choose -->> Say's it will erase disk (already erased using Retrospect) we choose OK -->> Says Can't Drive Busy.

Tried w/Normal & Recycle B/U & tried with Preferences "Use as Removable Media" on and off.

Sorry this was so long. We are desperate.

This is the problem. Save the catalog file on your internal hard drive. Then run the backup - Retrospect will see the drive automatically. You don't need to tell it where to store the backup.

Thanks

Nate
