gkowalsky6
When upgrading from 6.0x to v.7, how do I import the preferences (i.e., clients database, catalogs and scripts)? Are all these savet in the one file, as with v.6 and earlier? I'm having constant problems with prefs corrupted on 6.0 - every 3 or so months. natew
Hi This should happen automatically when you launch 7 for the first time. Make sure your old preferences are in the default location: documents and settings\all users\application data\retrospect Thanks Nate
awnews
Also, when I converted from 6.5 to 7.0, the 7.0 program automatically made a *new* copy of the config files for 7.0, leaving my old 6.5 config alone (although I had also made my own backup copy in advance). I'm guessing the 6.0->7.0 upgrade will do the same.
natew
Hi This is strange. Did you install Retrospect 7 for all users of the machine or just the logged in user? Did you do the same with 6.5? FWIW I've reinstalled 7 a bunch of times on just about every OS and the 6.5 preferences are imported every time. Thanks Nate
awnews
Nate, If that question was directed at me, I wanted to clarify: "made a new *new* copy of the config files for 7.0, leaving my old 6.5 config alone" meant that it automatically *imported* the data from the 6.5 config file into the 7.0 config file.
