slapidus
I'm interested in upgrading from v6.5 to v7.0 and have looked at a couple of alternatives. Obviously, I'm missing something. On the Dantz site, an upgrade costs $49.99. I also checked CNET.COM and found upgrades for as little as $11. I've read the ads, but can't tell if I'm comparing apples to apples. Here's the text from one of the CNET vendors: DANTZ DEVELOPMENT UPG-V RETROSPECT 7 1-CLIENT WIN BOXED LIC mfg part # (cz24g607000) Is this the same upgrade that Dantz's web site is listing for $50??? Thanks. Steve
JEtkins
I'll wager that is the single-client upgrade that Dantz sells for $14.95, i.e. the Network Client add-on, not Retrospect Professional itself.
slapidus
JEtkins, I think you're right. Thanks. I'm helping a friend install 7.0 on his machine. Based upon the number of problems with DR DVD creation and a two-hour wait for technical support, I think I might wait before buying the upgrade. Thanks. Steve Do not purchase directly from Dantz. You can get the upgrade to 7.0 from reputable online vendors for not more than $38-40, includuding shipping, at least as of a few daze ago. However, I'd wait a bit until more online vendors offer the product, that may give better alternatives.
slapidus
Howard, Thank you for your input. Based upon the number of serious problems installing 7.0 on my friend's machine and the 2-hour wait for Tech Supp, I'm in no hurry to order. I appreciate your comments.
