lisequinn
I have just purchased and installed Retrospect 6.5 Pro on my Dell lattitude laptop. This laptop has a DVD-RW. Retrospect says I have to configure the device for use. So I follwed the instructions, put a blank media (DVD-R) in and it says it is configuring, but it never moves beyond that point - even after leaving it running all night. Until this configures, I cannot use this device as a backup device. Any free clues?? natew
Hi Make sure you have Retrospect 6.5.350 installed along with the latest driver update. Also make sure to disable any other burning programs while you are running Retrospect. What is the make and model of the drive as listed in configure->devices->environment? Thanks Nate

natew
Hi This drive for sure supports -R media? You might want to try +R media instead. Its best go get good quality disks too. You can also try running the ASPIINST.exe utility located in the Retrospect program folder. Thanks Nate
