VXA driver issue upon reinstall of Retrospect Express 5.o

Due to a hard drive replacement, I've just reinstalled Retrospect Express on my Mac OS9.2 and it sees the Ecrix VXA tape drive but scans indicate "no driver" - I've gone thru Tech support with Retrospect and Exabyte techs, downloaded the VXA tool from Exabyte, updated the VXA-1 Firmware, downloaded the driver update and installer update from Dantz and still "no driver" pops up on the scan display. I'm missing something but near brain failure trying to figure it out. help. can't archive or restore until this is fixed.
