KevinH
I downloaded the trial version and installed it on my 98SE machine but when I ran the program it locks up. The toolbar at the top of the screen is grayed out and the computer will not react to anything I click on. Also, I was never prompted for the license code. I have to get into task manager and kill Retrospect to get out of the program. What could be causing this?
RogerS
I'm not an "Expert" in any way but I do know that certain things interfere with Retrospect... 1. Make certain ALL programs, specially spyware detectors, antivirus scanners, firewalls etc. are shutdown. 2. Read (If you havn't) the "readme" file. You may find specific info for your OS. If the install never gets far enough to extract it, check the Dantz web site. If needed, I can export this file in .pdf format and Email it to you. 3. Are you using "GoBack"? How much memory do you have, How much free space on your HD? 4. Try installing in "Safe Mode"...
KevinH
I'm using GoBack, Norton Firewall, and Norton SystemWorks. I have 640MB RAM and about 1GB free disk space on C:. I will try your suggestions and see if they work. Thanks for your advice.
