Folder Exclusions being ignored on MAC clients

When creating Folder exclusions they appear to be ignored. I have the following exclusion set:

"Include everything

but always exclude files matching:

Mac OS 9/OS X folder path matches pattern "Macintosh HD:Users:kedem:Music:"

When the client gets backed up all of their music files in the Music folder are getting backed up too. I have tried this same format on other Mac clients and it fails to follow the exclusions on those too. Have I missed something obvious?

We are running Retrospect Server 6.5.350 on a Windows XP Pro SP2 box.

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks for the suggestion Nate. Is it generally not recommended to include the volume in the exclusion then? I could have tried:

"Users:kedem:Music:"

instead of

"Macintosh HD:Users:kedem:Music:"

where "Macintosh HD" is the volume.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi

Actually you need the volume name to make an "exactly matches" path selector work.

I've fought with path selectors a lot. As you would guess, the "exactly matches" criteria requires an exact match of the path including all the specific path rules for each OS (forward slashes, back slashes, colons etc)

In the end I find that "starts with", "ends with" and "contains" are much easier to use.

Nate
