After loading the client software I'm still getting error -1111 (locked range conflict) on an outlook.pst. The file is closed when trying to backup.

What can i do to remedy this situation?

I don't know if this will fix anything, but your're using an old version of Retrospect (6.5.336, now 6.5.350) and an old version of the Driver Update, (version 4.5.101, now 5.3.103) so you might want to update those.

"The file is closed"--do you mean that you've quit out of Outlook prior to running the backup? Do you have Retrospect configured (Preferences) to close Outlook when running a backup.

What version of Windows are you running on? XP should be able to run Open File Backup (Volume Shadow Copy) although I've had mixed results with this. There's also a ($++) Open File Backup option in Retrospect that I've used with success even in places where VSC seemed to have problems.
