  1. Hello All, I'm hoping someone can help me out with ye old ver 6 of Retrospect? I was getting this error: Sorry, can't open the Retro.Config (6.0) file, error -24203 (not a chunk file or badly damaged) I was told from Retro tech that the .pref file is corrupt. (I do not have a copy of .pref file either other wise I would just replace) I tossed it out and Retrospect is now working but I lost all my Scripts to my Backups. I still have the Databases (Backup Set Catalog files) I just can't access them. I back up to DVD and have the DVD's The Backups are client Graphic Design files not a backup of a computer or Server. My question is does anyone know how to remake scripts to see my Backups? Thanks Chris
  2. I have just upgraded our server from Retro 6.5 to 8.2 and thought it would seamlessly install and everything would be recognized.... wrong. Thankfully I backed up the config65.dat file (scripts). I tried renaming that as config75.dat but when I try to restart Retro, I receive the following error: Can't load the configuration, error -801. Anyone know of a fix or do I have to rebuild the scripts from scratch?
  3. I have a script that copies data, and I don't want the "cache" files. In my copy script, I select the "all files Except cache files". I then click on the "summary" tab, and see that "rule" shows "all files Except cache files". Wait ...... A few seconds later, the "rule" in the "summary" tab says "all files". Clicking on the "rules" tab again, I find that the radio button for "all files" is selected again. I can do this several times. I click on a rule. Go back to the "summary" tab, and a few seconds later the "rule" selection has been switched back. Oops..... Sometimes it will "stick" for a while, but selecting a different script, and looking at the rules will pretty reliably change the target script back to "all files".
  4. Hello, I am relatively new to retrospect, and work for a company that employs it. Our IT predecessor did not leave much documentation on the product, but we are fast learners. One question I cannot seem to find an answer to is this: If I were to upgrade retrospect from 8.2 to 9, is there a way to keep the backup scripts that we have created in 8.2? Thank you in advance,
