  1. I presume I am having the same problem. Got a new G5 iMac running Tiger. Trying to run Retrospect 6.0.212 with CD-RW media (after downloading the update) and backup device is not recognized nor does it "configure". Of note, it only lists the driver as a DVD-R, where it is, in actuality, a superdrive. Is any help on the way?
  2. I am a novice Retrospect User running Mac OS9.2 & Retrospect 5.1. Having just backuped several folders to a named CD-RW, I wanted to create an script to automatically backup these folders weekly. The Easy Script looks easy, but it wants me to name things differently than the name I attached to the initial backup CD. Is the backup to a 2nd disk? How do I get it to use the original disk?
  3. 2nd posting of this message...still haven't gotten any help. I am a new RE user (have 4.3) and am on a Mac G4 Tower with OS 9.1. My CD-RW built-in is not being recognized by RE. I have done everything I can think of (downloaded the Drive updater, tried it with extensions off, etc) and am pretty exasperated. I am running a PowerMac G4 with 667 MHz processor; 256 MB RAM and 60 GB hard drive. CD-RW is the std built-in for this (SONY; CRX140E is the device model, which seems to be on your list of compatible drives.) with a 1.4.5 driver. I can write to CD from iTunes, but don't see a default to turn this off. Does this need to be disabled and how? Help appreciated.
  4. Just noticed the reason I couldn;t find my question in the forum. I thought I had posted this in the section on Mac 9.0 and earlier. Again, I am running OS 9.1, not X.
