  1. I manually started the Retrospect Engine and it's PID remains the same for 10 minutes. When I launch the application the Engine goes to a high CPU use level and then crashes. I then removed and backed up the Retrospect Folder from /Library/Applications support, did a full uninstall, restart and reload and now the Application and Engine are running properly, I then stopped the engine and copied back the Retrospect Folder from a backup and then problem returned ! I then discovered through trial and error that the Config80.dat file was corrupted so I deleted it and renamed the config80.bak file to config80.dat, restarted the engine and now everything is working. Thanks Nigel.
  2. It's the server edition, it has been running for about 18 months without any issues until a few days ago. I have rebooted the computer and cleared the log file by deleting it manualy.
  3. Running on 10.14.6 Mojave. Application loads and console connects to localhost where server is located. It connects to server shows all the icons and then syncs past activities but immediately loses the connection to the server and goes into a loop. I have reloaded the application and server files, removed the preferences
  4. Yes sorry, I meant to say when browsing the share in the finder there are NO problems accessing files or directories.
  5. I am running Retrospect 15.5.0 on a Mac Pro 10.11.6 backing up to an LTO-6 Tape Drive. I have no issues backing up locally attached drives or computers via the Retrospect client. The error only occurs when copying from a NAS drive and not on all directories/files. I have tried mounting the NAS in Retrospect via SMB or AFP and get the same errors on both protocols. The logged in user has read/write access to the directories being backed up. If I browse the same directories I get the errors when I am in in the Finder I can view and open the files without any problems. The NAS is a QNAP TS-873U-RP
  6. Retrospect 8.2.0 (399) Mac Pro 10.6.8 OX Server Atto ExpressPCI UL5D latest driver Quantum SDLT 600 DC Tape Library I am having two issues 1) Scheduled backups to tape do not start and proactive backups to file do not start. Scheduled backups to file do work. I have to manually run scheduled scripts to tape and sometimes the engines crashes when running a tape script. 2) On the server the engine crashes frequently especially when moving are tapes around the library during a backup Here is a the information from the terminal when the engine crashes, I restart the engine from here. The GUI is running on a separate workstation. Any advice is appreciated xservemp:MacOS admin$ sudo ./RetroEngine Password: #2> Command line is ./RetroEngine DAGServer:RegisterProtocal Protocal(GUID=200)!#2> !Can't continue operation, Quantum Library, ID 0:5:1 has no empty slots available, error -118 ( no empty slots). #2> !Can't continue operation, Quantum Library, ID 0:5:1 has no empty slots available, error -118 ( no empty slots). #3> LmGet: ndex = 7699, zero offset Assertion failure at "elem.cpp-1138", on threadID 0x9C1C000 xservemp:MacOS admin$ sudo ./RetroEngine Password: #2> Command line is ./RetroEngine DAGServer:RegisterProtocal Protocal(GUID=200)!#3> LmGet: ndex = 7672, zero offset Assertion failure at "elem.cpp-1138", on threadID 0x880A000 xservemp:MacOS admin$ sudo ./RetroEngine Password: Sorry, try again.
