  1. I am getting the same error with similar setup. Retrospect Single Server Version 7.7.620 w/ Open File and Exchange 2003-2007 addons. (Server 2003 R2) Client version for the Exchange mail server: 7.7.114 (Server 2003 R2) Only one mailbox out of 50 total is giving the error: - 7/24/2012 5:35:49 AM: Copying User on Server1 Trouble reading files, error -557 ( transaction already complete) 7/24/2012 5:37:58 AM: Execution incomplete Remaining: 22306 files, 3.7 GB Completed: 6 files, zero KB, with 0% compression Performance: 0.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:02:09 (00:02:04 idle/loading/preparing) I have seen references in other posts to restarting the client but this did not resolve the issue.
  2. I have contacted support and they said this is a known bug. And they do not have an ETA of when it will be fixed. FYI
  3. I have a Retrospect 7.0.344 setup on Windows 2003 environment. Two servers and eight client computers. The issue is that the for one of the servers backups takes days to complete when verification is turned on, but runs normally (about 12 hours) when verification is off. This is a newer development within the last month. Verification is on with every other client. We've completely reinstalled the client (un-installed and deleted the remaining folders and items), recreated the backup sets, and completely recreated the Retrospect database. A fresh installation basically. What are the next troubleshooting steps to take. Is there a reason that verification is just not starting to slow backups for this one client?
  4. I have two clients that are using version 7.7 On both of them I wanted to change the Backup Server Name under the email preferences. I can input new text into the name field and press OK. The name sticks if I check again but once the program is exited it reverts back to the original name. E.G. It is currently named Server1. I change the name to ClientName Server1. after a program restart it is named Server1 again. Is this a bug or does 7.7 handle this field different?
  5. Just trying to follow up. I went through the KB article and implemented the suggested changes. I am curious though as why running Retrospect under the RBU as opposed to the builtin Administrator is better and solved the problem? What are the differences? I need to know that way I can properly make the decision to implement for my other clients running Retrospect. Currently they are running as Administrator and I havent had any problems. Thanks again for the assistance.
  6. Thank you I have it pretty much all solved. My last question is about the RBU. This seems to be a newer suggestion as we have been running Retrospect using the built in Administrator user for a few years now. What the benefits are to creating a Retrospect Backup User account and using it as opposed to the Administrator account?
  7. I have run updates on Retrospect (Version 7.7) and am trying to use it to backup a Exchange 2007 system. The backup proceeds and backs up the storage groups and backs up the first inbox on the Exchange server then the other 25 email inboxes return the following error: - 7/21/2010 1:55:12 AM: Copying User on Server1 Scanning incomplete, error -3405 ( unknown) I have already tried removing the Exchange license and adding it back.
