  1. I did a ctrl-A, ctrl-C in the editor window and clicked cancel. I was then able to create another reply that worked. BTW, going back to view the topic showed two replies so I emptied one (as there was no delete option).
  2. I would like to see an alphabetical sort option added to the current version.
  3. If you can't get what you want with Retrospect, you might take a look at http://freefilesync.sourceforge.net/
  4. While attempting to post a reply to another topic, I got the following error. I'm using Chrome if that matters. Warning: Base directory HTML_PURIFIER_PATHcache/tmp does not exist, please create or change using %Cache.SerializerPath in /home/retrospe/public_html/ips_kernel/HTMLPurifier/HTMLPurifier/DefinitionCache/Serializer.php on line 133
  5. I did force quit Retrospect and manually launched it... The program starts normally but the dialog box reappears before I've had a chance to do anything about it. The dialog box (Server login... ?) is asking for a username and password for the missing NAS device. It has two buttons, OK and Cancel. It is on top of another popup dialog box that includes a Choices button which is, according to the user's guide, the button I'm supposed to press. The running script has decided that this Backup Set needs to be groomed. Below is an extract from the Operations Log for this backup set. This goes back in time to where the NAS device (MyBackD) was available and the need for grooming first appeared. The NAS devices were swapped before I had a chance to resolve the issue. At the end of the log you will see where I was able to click cancel and click the Choices button before the dialog box reappeared. The log also includes a successful backup to the available NAS device (MyBackC). + Normal backup using Brad-Morgan5_D_MyBackD at 10/7/2013 12:46 AM To Backup Set Brad-Morgan5-D2D... - 10/7/2013 12:46:17 AM: Copying Local Disk (D:) on BRAD-MORGAN5 10/7/2013 12:46:47 AM: Grooming Backup Set Brad-Morgan5-D2D... 10/7/2013 12:47:04 AM: Groomed zero KB from Backup Set Brad-Morgan5-D2D. 6. I have two NAS backup devices, one on-site and one off-site. I have daily scheduled scripts for both devices and my retroeventhandler.vbs cancels scripts which will attempt to use the off-site device. I upgraded to 8.5 and forgot to move the retroeventhandler.vbs to the new installation directory. I now have a popup dialog box asking for a username and password for the off-site device that prevents me from doing anything else. As soon as I cancel it pops up again. Short of a patch adding a delay or an additional option to this dialog box, how can I get out of this deadly embrace? Brad P.S. I believe this is a bug that needs a solution.
  7. I'm having exactly the same issue except mine didn't start until I upgraded to 8.1.0 (266) and my error messages are slightly different, -519 for the first disk on the second day and -530 for the second and third disks (i.e. 3 separate scripts for C:, D:, and E:). After a successful night's backup, I cannot Configure, Clients, Properties, and then Refresh on the server. I can recover (on the client) by rebooting or killing the retroclient.exe and Retrospect Client System Tray.exe processes with the Task Manager, restarting the Retrospect Service, and then (optionally) starting the Retrospect Client (which starts the System Tray process). The service will not stop unless I kill the processes first. The server is running on Windows 7 SP1 (64) and the troublesome client is also on Windows 7 SP1 (64). I have two other clients, Windows XP SP3 (32) and Windows 8 (64) which are functioning normally. The backup device is a NAS device (Western Digital Live 2TB). I have tried removing the anti-virus, re-installing the client software on the client machine, and removing and re-adding the client on the server. None of these have changed the symptoms.
  8. I have Retrospect 7.5 Professional version 7.5.508 with hotfix 7.5.14.102 installed on Windows XP Professional SP2. I had 2 Windows XP SP2 clients (version 7.5.116) installed and working correctly. One of those clients has been retired (MB failure) and has been replaced with a new machine running Vista Ultimate SP1. I installed the Retrospect Client version 7.5.116 and have verified that the Client is listening on port 497. The server cannot see the Vista client. It does see the other Windows XP client. Is there a newer client for Vista? If so, where do I get it? If not, is there something I need to do to get the Vista Client to be seen? Regards, Brad
  9. This is exactly what I want to do but with a small twist, I'd like Retrospect to backup to the set on the current drive automatically. In a perfect world, the proper drive would be attached on the proper day but occasionally, things like holidays, snow days, sick days, etc. cause the person who takes the non-connected drive home for disaster recovery purposes to not come to work. When they come back to work, they switch the drives like they normally do. I don't want to manually figure out which drive is needed, I want the software to do it automatically. Is this possible? If so, how do you configure Retrospect to do it.
