  1. I have a unlimited version of Retrospect for Mac Version 8.2.0 (399)running on all my computers. On one Mac running OS 10.5.8 I created a copy script that will not run manually or scheduled. I created a script to copy the Users home folder to their network drive. The drive is mounted and the pathway is set in the sources/share. The script is confirmed. This is the same setup I have on all the other computers. However it will not will on the scheduled time or manually bu clicking on the Run button. Nothing shows up in the Activities. Not sure what I am missing.
  2. Thanks. But I have the latest software and the Network config is setup that way.
  3. I am running Retrospect for Workgroups 5.0.2 on a G4 Macintosh I backup about 20 users per night over the network. Sometimes the server will make a connection with a client and start the backup. But during the process Retrospect will have trouble staying connected. And instead of quitting and moving on to the next client there will be a window " Net Retry " And it will keep trying all night long till I come in the next day and cancel it. I've looked throughout preferences and can't find a setting to stop this. Is there a way to setup a timeout for this? Give it a predetermined time to try before moving on?
  4. Thanks I'll try that. But to be more specific. I have 100 remote user workstations I backup. 20 per night. Monday through Friday. My Autoloader holds 10 tapes. I want to be able to put in 10 erased tapes and have the backups run unattended for two weeks. I already had 5 scripts setup. One for each day of the week. Each having 20 workstaions assigned to them. I needed to know if Retrospect knew to move the Autoloader to the next tape for each days script. Or did I have to tell Retrospect which tape to select for each script.
  5. I have a Mac running OSX and Retrospect for Workgroups 5.0 I have an Exabyte Autopak 1X10 Autloader tape drive I want to be able to run five backup scripts. One for each workday. How do I tell Retrospect which tape in the Autoloader to choose for each script? Also I want to be able to put 10 tapes in at a time for two weeks worth of nightly backups. How would I set that script? Retrospect sees the autoloader in the configure/devices window. But it doesn't allow me to do anything with each slot except erase them. Thank you

  7. I'd like to do it weekly for a month at a time. In other words I'd like to put a new tape in each Monday for all four weeks. Then at the beginning of the next month start the cycle all over again and recycle the tapes. Hopefully only having four backup sets. Thanks Melissa
  8. I want to setup a backup script on my OSX server to backup on a regular basis with a new tape each week. I want to set it up so I put in a new tape every Monday for a complete backup. and then use that same tape for incremental backups the following Tuesday through friday. Then I want to put a new tape in on Monday and start the process over. I want Retrospect to create a new backup set each Monday. And I want this to run automatically. The only thing I want to have to do is tape a new tape in each Monday. I have gone over several of the script suggestions. But none quite fit this. Can anyone give me any suggestions? Thank You Rick saunders
