bsmorgan
I have two NAS backup devices, one on-site and one off-site. I have daily scheduled scripts for both devices and my retroeventhandler.vbs cancels scripts which will attempt to use the off-site device. I upgraded to 8.5 and forgot to move the retroeventhandler.vbs to the new installation directory. I now have a popup dialog box asking for a username and password for the off-site device that prevents me from doing anything else. As soon as I cancel it pops up again. Short of a patch adding a delay or an additional option to this dialog box, how can I get out of this deadly embrace? Brad P.S. I believe this is a bug that needs a solution.
Mayoff
I am not exactly sure which dialog box you are seeing (or what part of Retrospect is displaying it). If you force quit Retrospect and then manually launch Retrospect again, do you see this dialog box? I would assume that the program opens normally. You can then go to Configure>volumes and configure Retrospect to automatically login to the NAS device.

bsmorgan
I did force quit Retrospect and manually launched it... The program starts normally but the dialog box reappears before I've had a chance to do anything about it. The dialog box (Server login... ?) is asking for a username and password for the missing NAS device. It has two buttons, OK and Cancel. It is on top of another popup dialog box that includes a Choices button which is, according to the user's guide, the button I'm supposed to press. The running script has decided that this Backup Set needs to be groomed. Below is an extract from the Operations Log for this backup set. This goes back in time to where the NAS device (MyBackD) was available and the need for grooming first appeared. The NAS devices were swapped before I had a chance to resolve the issue. At the end of the log you will see where I was able to click cancel and click the Choices button before the dialog box reappeared. The log also includes a successful backup to the available NAS device (MyBackC). + Normal backup using Brad-Morgan5_D_MyBackD at 10/7/2013 12:46 AM To Backup Set Brad-Morgan5-D2D... - 10/7/2013 12:46:17 AM: Copying Local Disk (D:) on BRAD-MORGAN5 10/7/2013 12:46:47 AM: Grooming Backup Set Brad-Morgan5-D2D... 10/7/2013 12:47:04 AM: Groomed zero KB from Backup Set Brad-Morgan5-D2D.
